This exceptional medical graphic includes two medical illustrations pertaining to spinal pain management injections, used after a traumatic low back injury.  The first illustration is a lateral (sagittal) view of a normal lumbar spine and sacrum. The second illustration provides a visual of a needle performing an epidural injection in the lower lumbar spine.  The difference between this image and the previous one is that the inset image is zoomed out, allowing the viewer to realize this injection is happening at the lumbosacral joint (L5-S1). Not only are these illustrations realistic in their portrayal of the exterior and internal bone structure, but they nicely demonstrate the end fibers of the spinal cord present in the lumbosacral region called the cauda equina.

This graphic is best used for demand letters/narrative reports, mediation, arbitration or trial in cases involving epidural pain management injections at L5-S1 – very common site of injury.
