Description
AI tools are now commonplace in legal practice, and they are changing rapidly. Join trial attorney John Lomurro to gain a practical, trial-focused understanding of how artificial intelligence can be used ethically, effectively, and strategically in modern litigation. This seminar will address the professional responsibilities that govern AI use, including accuracy, confidentiality, supervision, candor, and the need to verify AI-assisted work before relying on it in pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Participants will also learn how to communicate with AI tools through clear, precise, and purposeful prompting. This program will demonstrate how better prompts produce better results and help attorneys use AI to brainstorm case themes, organize facts, analyze records, prepare examinations, test arguments, and improve written advocacy while maintaining attorney judgment and control.
This seminar will also explain the major categories of AI that trial lawyers are likely to encounter, including generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, agents and agentic workflows, computer vision, and related emerging tools. By the end of the program, attorneys will have a stronger foundation for evaluating AI technologies, improved understanding of their risks and limits, and be better able to incorporate them into litigation practice in a way that is ethical, efficient, and effective.
