— Phillip Miller, coauthor of Advanced Depositions Strategy and PracticeIf you represent people with personal injury claims, you’re probably going to talk to people who have premises liability cases. Over my career, I’ve talked to hundreds of people with premises liability claims without great results. After reading Mike’s book, I know the problem was me. — Francis X. Shen, associate professor and McKnight Presidential Fellow at the University of Minnesota Law SchoolExpert witnesses are essential to success in the courtroom. Yet few resources are available to teach advocates how to work with scientific experts. In this excellent book, Michael Neff shows attorneys how to effectively work with experts from start to finish. — Anthony Romanucci, chair of the AAJ’s Police Misconduct Litigation Group and past chair of the AAJ’s Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation GroupAs the current chair of AAJ’s Police Misconduct Litigation Group and past chair of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group, I am very familiar with the requirement of having a basis in knowledge of a broad spectrum of practice areas, as there exists crossover in almost everything we do on a daily basis to serve justice to our clients. Mike’s book perfectly fills that requirement as it effortlessly guides the practitioner through the essentials of proving liability in what are inherently difficult cases to prove. Without knowing what Mike Neff outlines in his book on premises liability a practicing attorney never even gets to present the damages that will restore the hole in a victim’s life.

"Easy read. Extremely helpful."
"Absolutely loved the book. Easy to read and apply to my everyday practice. Definitely a MUST read for all premises liability practitioners."
"Wonderful read for all lawyers to use to have a solid foundation on any premise liability case which are often litigated."
"The chapters on discovery, depositions, and expert contain good substantive advice. But this book has too much fluff advice for new lawyers. "Start your career by trying simple cases first" was repeated dozens of times. There is also a lot of generic information that anyone with 3+ years experience knows (read old depo transcripts of adverse experts, e.g.). I felt like 50+ pages of generic advice could have been cut. Or the title could've been "Premises Liability and Litigation Tips for Beginner Lawyers." I know this sounds harsh, but for $155, I expected more."
"I wish I had read this book when I first started handling these difficult but potentially rewarding cases. I could have had a lot more fun and would surely have avoided some painful lessons."
"Great book with great practical advise. Not just a bunch of war stories; it's something that can actually help you win even the small premise liability cases. If you are starting out, or need to refine your premise liability strategy, this book will help."
"I purchased this book after hearing Neff speak. The book is good for new attorneys, but more experienced attorneys may feel, like me, that it could have provided more substance."
"Michael has written the preeminent "how to" on working up a premises liability case. With intel from the front lines, he not only offers guidance on how to flush out information from larger institutions, but also formulaic methods that work outside of name-brand companies. Very well done."
"Book contained very little new info"
"Very informative as far as developing strategies, locating sources for Rules, and deposing 30(B) 6 witnesses in premises liability cases."
