Edward P. Capozzi is a plaintiff’s personal injury trial attorney in the State of New Jersey and a partner at Brach Eichler LLC. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a civil trial attorney for his expertise at trial in civil matters. After a long career as a musician and performer, he left the stage and entered the courtroom where he is known for his fierce cross-examinations of medical witnesses and artistic presentations of his cases. Mr. Capozzi has had at least one, and as many as three, of the top twenty verdicts and settlements in the State of New Jersey for five consecutive years. In 2014, he received the New Jersey Law Journal’s Hall of Fame Award for the highest verdict in the state for a products liability case. He has been named to Best Attorneys in America, the Top 1 percent of Attorneys in America, and has been selected to Super Lawyers and Top Attorneys in NJ every year since 2012. Mr. Capozzi specializes in trucking, auto, and premises liability matters, including elevator incidents. In 2015, he received the fifth largest verdict or settlement in the State. He has represented seriously injured clients in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, West Virginia, Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.
Mr. Capozzi is a vice president of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ), a Leader’s Forum member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), an advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a member of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America (APITLA), the American Bar Association (ABA), and the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA). He regularly lectures throughout the United States on trucking, cross-examination of defense experts, and proving proximate cause at trial. He is married to his wife, Mariana, a school teacher, and has four children: Alex, James, Olivia, and Thomas. He is a collector of historical, sports, and music related memorabilia and an avid sports fan of the Yankees, Rangers, Jets, and Knicks.
