Recent neuroimaging developments have provided evidence of the harmful effects of fungal and bacterial colonization of the brain caused by exposure to mold microorganisms. Neurobehavioral changes seem to be related to the selective vulnerability of different regions to colonization/infection.
Join Dr. Randall Benson as he discusses the neurological consequences of “Sick Building Syndrome” (SBS) promulgated by Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker of the Center for Research on Biotoxin Associated Illnesses. His landmark paper from 2014 using volumetric MRI established an imaging phenotype that provides a needed organic substrate for a historically very controversial syndrome.
Dr. Benson will be joined by trial lawyer Randy Rozek who will provide discussion points and valuable insight into the potential uses for this research in legal cases regarding health problems related to dampness and mold.
